Fatima Teffahi is one of the most important personalities of the Lindy Hop and Swing dance revival in Europe. Fatima, originally from Belgium, is a master of tap dancing. Since her beginnings in the 80’s, Fatima has looked to the African-American dancers of the 30’s and 40’s for their original style. She came into contact with the swing dance scene at the Herräng Dance Camp in Sweden. Today, she is one of the driving forces behind the camp and plays a large role in its organization. Fatima lives in Stockholm, where she has been a member of the Rhythm Hot Shots (today: Harlem Hot Shots) since the beginning. She is co-founder of the Chicago Swing Dance studio. For many years, Fatima has been teaching tap dance and Authentic Jazz.

What can be said of her tap-dancing roots also applies to her jazz vernacular: the talent of the masters of the swing era, whose testimony has survived in old films to this day, is the source of Fatima’s knowledge and inspiration.
