Swing Up Orchestra
The “Swing Up Orchestra” is made up of jazz musicians from the Rhône-Alpes region (south-east France), and takes you back to the golden age of swing in the 40s. The band revives the music of jazz legends such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Artie Shaw and many others…
The Swing Up Orchestra was created in Lyon in 2018 for the local community of swing dancers. Right from the start, a sensational atmosphere between jazz musicians and swing dancers was born.
The original group consisted of six musicians, but it wasn’t long before singer Lou Rivaille added her magical voice to the mix. In 2019, they record their first album “Hop, Skip and Jump”, and start playing at many swing festivals, touring all over France.
In 2022, they recorded a second album, “Get Rhythm”, featuring their own original compositions, as well as other great swing standards. For this album, singer Kriss Koyazounda was called in to bring a different tone.
They continue to tour France and abroad, sharing the fabulous energy of their authentic swing with the dance community…
With a strong rhythm section and feverish solos, the Swing Up Orchestra recreates the energy and excitement of the Swing era to get you dancing!
