Montpellier celebrates 80 years of Liberation!
On August 31 and September 1, 2024, the City and Metropolis of Montpellier organized a large number of events and festivities to mark the 80th anniversary of the Liberation.
Swinging Montpellier was honored to take part in the festivities with a big-band swing ball, a show and free introductions.
On the program:
Live concert: Bolden Buddies (Little Big Band)
The evening kicked off with a concert by the Bolden Buddies, an explosive little big band that revisits swing jazz with elegance and power. Vibrant brass, driving groove and infectious energy: a true musical voyage that set the dance floor alight.
Introduction to Lindy Hop
A free introduction to the Lindy Hop was offered, accessible to all, with no pre-requisites. An ideal opportunity to discover this joyful, social swing dance, born in the 30s, and let yourself be carried away by the live music.
Choreographed show
Then it’s time for the show, choreographed by Rémy Kouakou Kouamé, accompanied by Léti, César, Anna, Fabien and Cemré.
A highlight of the evening, combining creativity, precision and emotion, highlighting the richness of swing dance and its contemporary interpretations.
DJ Set to close the evening
To prolong the pleasure, the evening ended with a DJ set. An ideal selection of music to keep you dancing, chatting and enjoying the atmosphere until the end of the night.
