Angela Andrew is a Lindy Hop dancer, choreographer, and blogger living in London, UK. Born and bred in London’s East End, she’s very proud of it! She even created her own hashtag: #OriginalHackneyHipster!<\/p>\n
She is delighted to be part of the artistic community at Chisenhale Dance Space, which supports her current project “Radical Integration”, a work about the heritage and transmission of dance through DNA, with the participation of Othella Dallas.<\/p>\n
Her first dance experiences date back to the first generation of hip-hop dancers. As a young musician, she enjoyed playing various instruments. At the same time, she studied social pedagogy. In 1991, she discovered Lindy Hop.<\/p>\n
For over 30 years, she has been teaching and performing at dance and music festivals worldwide. However, true to her vocation as a community organizer, she regularly takes part in local events, street parties and so on.<\/p>\n
In May 2014, she experienced a career highlight by performing at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. During this period, she also served as a mentor to the Hodi dance company, as part of their exchange between Harlem and Brooklyn.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
