On August 31 and September 1, 2024, the City and Metropolis of Montpellier organized a large number of events and festivities to mark the 80th anniversary of the Liberation.<\/p>\n
Swinging Montpellier was honored to take part in the festivities with a big-band swing ball, a show and free introductions.<\/p>\n
On the program:<\/p>\n
The evening kicked off with a concert by the Bolden Buddies, an explosive little big band that revisits swing jazz with elegance and power. Vibrant brass, driving groove and infectious energy: a true musical voyage that set the dance floor alight.<\/p>\n
A free introduction to the Lindy Hop was offered, accessible to all, with no pre-requisites. An ideal opportunity to discover this joyful, social swing dance, born in the 30s, and let yourself be carried away by the live music.<\/p>\n
Then it’s time for the show, choreographed by R\u00e9my Kouakou Kouam\u00e9, accompanied by L\u00e9ti, C\u00e9sar, Anna, Fabien and Cemr\u00e9.
A highlight of the evening, combining creativity, precision and emotion, highlighting the richness of swing dance and its contemporary interpretations.<\/p>\n
To prolong the pleasure, the evening ended with a DJ set. An ideal selection of music to keep you dancing, chatting and enjoying the atmosphere until the end of the night.<\/p>\n
