A swing ball at Montpellier’s Cité des Arts

On Thursday, July 3, 2025, the Cité des Arts (Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole) vibrated to the rhythm of swing at a swing ball organized for the presentation of the Big Band of the Cité des Arts Jazz Department.

From 8pm onwards, a large audience gathered to share a festive and musical moment in an emblematic setting dedicated to dance, music and theater. The evening was an opportunity to highlight the work and energy of the musicians of the Cité des Arts Big Band Jazz, offering a rich and lively repertoire, conducive to dancing and conviviality.

A successful artistic collaboration

The event was part of a wonderful collaboration between the Montpellier Conservatoire, the Big Band des Loustics de Clapiers and noptre festival Swinging Montpellier. This partnership brought together musicians, dancers and jazz fans around the same passion: swing and live music.

Experienced dancers and novices shared the space in a warm and inclusive atmosphere, perfectly illustrating the spirit of the swing ball: meeting, exchanging and enjoying movement.

A moment of sharing and transmission

Beyond the musical performance, this evening embodied the values of transmission, collaboration and openness to the public, which are dear to local cultural players. It created a real link between students, partner associations and the Montpellier public.
