Korantema & Stephen (Lindy Hop)

Korantema Anyimadu

Korantema is a dance and performance artist born and raised in London. After attending her first dance show in 2014, she quickly fell in love with African-American jazz. She danced in a choral group for five years, including two as co-director and choreographer, until 2020. Since then, she has trained with Cookie and her Black Mambas, a collective led by Lindy Hop icon Angela Andrew. When she’s not dancing, Korantema works as an anthropology curator and creates fanzines, generally exploring the cultural experiences of black women.

Stephen Atemie

Stephen is a promising young talent from the new generation of Lindy Hop dancers. In 2017, he traveled to South Africa to work for a month with the Sing Inchanga charity. There, he shared his know-how with local children and young people, coaching them in their own dance styles and in Lindy Hop. His performances and competitions include “10 Downing Street”, the ILHC World Finals and his role as a dancer in the Oscar-nominated films “The Six Triple Eight” and “Wicked (Part I)”. More recently, as a board member of Collective Voices For Change, he organizes conferences, webinars and works to promote Lindy Hop and AAVJ culture worldwide.
