In the spotlight…
Intensive
“INTENSIVE” is a special track on the Friday of the Swinging Montpellier festival. It’s aimed at a selection of high-level dancers already involved in today’s swing scene: artists, teachers, performers, competitors or scene leaders.
Contest 2026
Ready to take up the challenge? The 2026 Choreographic Competition is on, and this year we’re honoring the great Duke Ellington. Whether you’re a Lindy Hop fan or a Solo Jazz buff, now’s the time to extract the essence of swing and create your own masterpiece. The goal? Transform an Ellington nugget into a unique choreography and present it to the festival audience on July 17.
Register now! On your marks, get set… Can you swing all the way to the final?

Two flagship competitions:
The Choreographic Competition (Friday evening) invites dancers to create a two-minute choreography to a piece by a jazz icon such as Ella Fitzgerald in 2025 or Count Basie in 2024.
This year, Duke Ellington’s repertoire will be featured…
The Jazz vs All Styles Battle (Sunday evening), which pits jazz dancers against dancers from other styles (such as Hip Hop, for example) in an improvised showdown to jazz and pop music tracks carefully selected by a DJ.
Free evenings & concerts
4 free parties from Thursday to Sunday evening (swing dances under the stars) and 2 after-parties (Friday and Saturday evening) feature internationally renowned orchestras (the Carolina Reapers Swing, the Hot Swing Sextet, the Swing Up Orchestra…).
The after-parties are held at the Jost Hotel and are hosted by a DJ.
